There is some evidence that suggests that just looking at a nature photo can have a measurable effect in reducing our stress levels, bringing an overall sense of well-being.
Take a moment to gaze at the photo above.
Soften your body. Soften your gaze.
Take slow, gentle, natural deep breaths. In through the nose, hold for a moment, out through the nose.
Notice how the breath begins below the ribs, then expands the ribs to the sides, then expands the chest.
Notice how the exhale reverses the process.
Feel the coolness of the breath coming in.
Feel the warmth of the breath going out.
Close your eyes for a moment, noticing how you may feel different.
Better? Lighter? The same?
Whatever happened during the exercise is perfect.
The goal is just to cultivate a little more awareness than we had before.
