Sorry that I haven’t posted much lately.  I think it’s been two weeks! Yikes!

Discombobulation in the brain department has been a hallmark recently.

Consistency is key with a blog.  My goal is for this to be a beneficial space for you, and myself.

For you because I hope you will gain something.  Inspiration, resolve, comfort, annoyance…. 🙂

For me because I just need to write.

Through life’s ups and downs, one practice has been consistent for me (besides meditation).

Every day, usually in the morning, I open my journal and write three pages of longhand, stream-of-consciousness thoughts without stopping to worry about how it sounds, looks, etc.

This practice is called Morning Pages, created by the extraordinary creatrix, Julia Cameron.

Her book The Sound of Paper was required reading during my certificate program in English literature with University of London.

This book and Morning Pages (all of Cameron’s work, really) have been treasures in my life since 2013.

You don’t have to be an artist of any kind to do Morning Pages.

The benefit in the practice is to free us from whatever is percolating in our minds, so we can focus on what matters in the moment.

Maybe this is completing your novel, a painting, a song, reading to your toddler at bedtime, or vacuuming the carpet.

We all hold creative energy within our hearts.  It is our birthright as human beings.

Allow creativity to be your lifeblood.
